In an increasingly fragile world, structures that were taken for granted are dissolving: they fade, become unclear and need to be rethought. The work Dissolving Patterns, 2020 deals with these processes of social change. By manually inscribing horizontal and vertical interrupted lines, a pattern becomes visible that simultaneously emerges and disappears. The arrangement of the sequence of lines is both distinct and indistinct. It is clear and diffuse. The grid structures reflect both security and instability.
